MUNCIE, Ind. — Local authorities on Thursday seized 240 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $250,000.
Members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit — along with Fishers police and agents with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security — this week participated in a joint investigation focused on northwestern Delaware County.
According to Chief Deputy Jeff Stanley, officers received information that a "large shipment" of marijuana had been sent from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Delaware County.
The package was sent to a local shipping company, Stanley said, and was seized after authorities received a warrant to search its contents.
The package contained 240 pounds of marijuana, "individually wrapped in multiple bags and heat-sealed," the chief deputy said.
No arrests had been made as of early Friday, but the investigation was continuing.
